The term Black powder was coined in the late 19th century to distinguish prior gunpowder formulations from the new and semi-smokeless powders.

The black powder section of NSRG consists of many types of shooting which includes flintlock, percussion and black powder cartridge types of firearms.

The only stipulation is it must be loaded with black powder.    All are welcome at  these shoots including non-club members.  If you are interested in this type of shooting and don't have a black powder firearm of your own please still consider attending as it is likely one of the other shooters may let you try out theirs.   For more information contact Chris at nsrg.blackpowder@gmail.com.
