Cowboy Action
About Cowboy Action Schooting at NSRG (CAS) is a competitive shooting sport which incorporates three sets of guns: 2 pistols – (single action in caliber 32 to 45 colt) Rifle – (single lever action or pump action in pistol caliber) Shotgun – (either side by side 12 ga. or 1897 pump in 12 ga.) Juniors may choose to use 22 caliber pistols, rifles and 16 or 20 gauge shotguns Cartridges must adhere to Pistol: 400-1000fps Rifle: 800-1400fps and bullets must be lead only. Competition is a type of three-gun match utilizing a combination of pistols, rifle, and shotgun in a variety of “old west themed” courses of fire for time and accuracy. Participants dress in appropriate theme or era costume which use gear and accessories as mandated by the sanctioning group rules. Fun for the whole family Come and enjoy this growing sport. A reminder that guest shooters need to be signed in by a member and pay the guest fee. Cowboy Action Shooting Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS, also known as Western Action Shooting, Single Action Shooting, or Cowboy 3-gun) is a competitive shooting sport that originated in Southern California, USA, in the early 1980s.
